Release the bats!

This is the best time of year for bats. We have many bats around here – I think they are pipistrelles and they roost in a large house just over the river from us. At twilight and dusk you can see them largely from the front of the house flitting around looking for insects.

R claims he can’t see them even though I keep pointing them out to him – they are so small and quick that it is a case of “See the bats?” “What bats?”

Anyway, they are there, but they are impossible to get photos of, so I got my friend Bing to make one. It is very good though perhaps a little over dramatic for the actual scene – it has a touch of Dracula’s Castle about it.
